Physicians & Referrals
o matter what your level of clinical experience, there will always be some patients that just don’t respond to your care the way you would expect. As such, Missouri Brain & Spine provides personalized initial and/or second opinions for those patients who have not responded, or have become refractory to, traditional forms of care while allowing you, the referring physician, to maintain control of patient management.
An in-house study found that Missouri Brain & Spine changed the working diagnosis in 28% of cases, and modified treatment plans in 77% of cases.
Our unique program allows the referring physician to attend the referred patient’s Independent Neurological (INE) Evaluation and/or advanced diagnostic testing procedure. We believe that this co-management relationship allows for increased physician awareness regarding the various evaluation and management methodologies of brain-based disorders.
here are four-steps in the process of requesting a second opinion. We anticipate the steps will take you about 30-45 minutes to complete. A helpful hint that we recommend:
Have your medical records of your patient or those of your loved one on hand as you fill out the medical history questionnaire portion of this process.
The medical history questionnaire is detailed so having medical records to quickly reference will help make the process more efficient.
Below is a brief description of the information being requested in each step of the online process:
